Mid-Year Book Freak Out – 2018

Hey guys!

I did this tag last year and it was so much fun! Since we’ve hit the middle of the year (HOW?!) I’m diving back in to air my book grievances and book loves!

Q1: Best book that you’ve read so far in 2018?

To be honest, I’ve only read a few books this year that I’ve absolutely loved! But To Kill A Kingdom has to be the one, it just blew me away!

Q2: Best sequel that you’ve read so far in 2018?

I’ve been focusing mainly on standalone books this year, but I have read a couple of sequels. Angel Of Shadow has to be the best hands down! I love Kali and Tiamat!

Q3: New release that you haven’t read yet but want to?

I feel so bad for this one! I loved Wintersong to death, like literally, I’m in love with it. I was so excited for Shadowsong to be released and I bought a copy and just haven’t read it yet – I really need to get on it!

Q4: Most anticipated release for the next half of 2018?

This is EASY! Have I told you how much I adored Renegades? I mean I probably have lol! I can’t stop shouting about that book and its sequel – Arch Enemies – is releasing in November EEEK!!!

Q5: Biggest disappointment in 2018?

This one I’m really sad about. I couldn’t wait for The Beast’s Heart to come out and I ended up with an e-arc, but it just wasn’t that amazing. It was good but I expected more?

Q6: Biggest surprise in 2018?

This book was a review request for an indie author and I wasn’t expecting to love it, but I totally did! It was completely captivating and magical, I highly recommend it.

Q7: Favourite new author (debut or new to you)?

Jo Spain – I know she’s written other books but I’d never heard of her and when I read an arc of The Confession I was blown away! It’s one of my favourite books this year and Jo is super lovely too.

Q8: Newest fictional crush?

I’ve only just read the Red Queen and I totally love Cal – he’s just lush!!

Q9: Newest favourite character?

Lira from To Kill A Kingdom – I just love her, she’s wicked and sexy and totally devastating!

Q10: A book that made you cry?

I don’t cry easily and I haven’t really cried yet this year, but Simon definitely had me teary from happiness!

Q11: A book that made you happy?

This book had me laughing in so many places and I loved the ending.

Q12: The most beautiful book you’ve bought or received in 2018?

There’s no contest here –  The Surface Breaks is STUNNING and it’s even prettier in person, especially when the foil catches the light!

Q13: What books do you need to read by the end of 2018?

Lots!! Send help, send a friend, send for an ambulance once I’ve passed out underneath ALL the books!!

Let’s see if I manage to read those book eh?! What books have you fell head over heels for? Let me know!

I tag anyone who wants to do it!

Hope you enjoyed! Until next time ❣
