Time is running out.
Together, they can save the world.
But they are each other’s worst nightmare.

In Renegades, Nova and Adrian (aka Insomnia and Sketch) fought the battle of their lives against the Anarchist known as the Detonator. It was a short-lived victory.

The Anarchists still have a secret weapon, one that Nova believes will protect her. The Renegades also have a strategy for overpowering the Anarchists, but both Nova and Adrian understand that it could mean the end of Gatlon City – and the world – as they know it.

A roller-coaster ride of emotions, bad-ass action and deadly secrets.

My Thoughts

It’s been a few weeks since I read Arch Enemies and I still don’t know how to express my feelings for this book! Incredible, amazing, powerful, stressful, emotional .. just a few words that come to mind and not nearly enough to convey how I felt whilst reading it.

When I read Renegades last year, I was shocked at the amount of enjoyment I took in delving through its pages and discovering its secrets. I did not expect to love Renegades and I did not expect to love Arch Enemies even more! I didn’t believe that this series could get any better, but it’s surpassed all of my expectations.

We begin right where we left off, back in Gatlon city, by Nova’s side. If you think this book will ease you into its story, think again. The action came thick and fast from the offset and I felt right at home in the midst of it. The pace of the book is completely addictive and feels as though it has its own life force. I read so much of this book within hours and before I knew it, I was half way through and climbing rapidly into the early hours of the morning. I. COULD. NOT. PUT. IT. DOWN!!

Speaking of addictions, Adrian Everhart is like a drug and I will ship him and Nova until the day I die! I was overjoyed to see their relationship take a step in the right direction and cannot wait to see it blossom, I mean hopefully!

I was excited to see some new characters introduced and particularly warmed to Callum. He’s kinda goofy and funny and his power is really quite cool and unique. I’d love to see more of him in the next instalment!

I wept quite a few times whilst reading and especially the moments with Winston. He may be one of the bad dudes, but I love his maddening personality and to see him so diminished was utterly heartbreaking!

I have some mixed feelings about the Renegades, but I’m damn certain that their bombshell of a new weapon is wrong on so many levels and I hate them all the more for it. I see things through Nova’s eyes and I believe she is the only person seeing clearly. What she is fighting for is true and just and I will be behind her until the very end!

When I read Renegades, I was certain what side I was one, the Anarchists. But with all that has transpired since, I know whose side I’m on, Nova’s.
