Popular Books I DNF #2

popular books I DNF (1)

Hey guys!

I did this post last month and you guys seemed to really enjoy it, so I’m making it into a series! You can find the first here.

Popular Books I DNF is where I will talk about super hyped books that just didn’t do it for me. If you loved these books then that’s great, this is just my personal experience 🙂

The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

I’m really kind of mixed about this book. It sounded so promising and I thought I would love it. The theme is right up my street, but I honestly couldn’t get into it and found it a bit boring. Maybe I was in the wrong mood? I don’t know. I may attempt this again one day because I want it to be good!

The Star Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi

I had the same issue with this book too. On paper it sounds great, but it didn’t hook me. I read a good few chapters hoping for something to happen, even just a glimmer of connection, but I felt nothing. Sadly I don’t think I would try this again.

City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare

city of bones

This is SUCH a hyped series and the premise sounded incredible, so I thought f*ck it and bought the whole boxset – boy do I regret that decision. I just did not enjoy the writing at all and I mean that’s a killer for a book that you READ! It’s sad because I loved the film so much and I wish they’d produced more, alas no. Jamie will always have my heart!

Line breaker

I’m going to leave it at three this time around and continue with another three next time.

What did you think of these books? Let me know!

Hope you enjoyed! Until next time💜

  1. Ooh City of Bones was a DNF? I can see it. I’m a fan but I read them when I was a lot younger and not so discerning in my tastes 😂 they’re more of a sentimental love now. Do you have any books that you only like for sentimental reasons? Great post!! 💙 Jen
